Smartwatch Explosion is Expected in 2014

Smartwatches are hot gadgets these days. But a big explosion of smartwatches is expected to come in next year. According to the Canalys forecast, more than 5 million units will be shipped in 2014. The research firm estimates that smartwatch shipments will reach 5 million units in current year.

Hence Canalys researchers estimated that its shipments will surely exceed 5 million marks during next year. Sony, Motorola had already shipped an estimated 330,000 smartwatches last year. In current year, Pebble smartwatch hits Kickstarter. Pebble has now become the hottest smart watch in industry. It will surely help gadget shipments to reach 5 million mark this year.

Many new names will join this race soon. Big companies like Apple, Samsung, Google and Microsoft have already shown intention to make their own wearable devices. It means that smart watch explosion is expected by the end of 2014.
