Twitch iOS app has now updated to bring Dota 2 item drops, more than 750 live new channels, redesigned chat interface and following view toggle option between mobile--viewable and desktop-ready streams.
Twitch has updated its mobile app for iOS with a slew of improvements that is available now to download from iTunes App Store. Latest Twitch iOS app version 750 Live Channels adds up three times more live channel accessibility. Now more than 750 live channels are available on all mobile apps including Xbox instead of previous 200 channels. And the company has shown concerns to increase this number by globally improving its HLS capacity.
The main feature added specifically for iOS users is the ability to gain Dota 2 item drops. As the video game broadcasting platform also states in official blog that "Twitch Mobile App for iOS now allows viewers who have connected their Steam accounts to Twitch to earn Dota 2 item drops while viewing eligible mobile streams."
The chat interface for iOS app is also redesigned with a simple look that is more efficient and stable to support Twitch emoticons. A live following view now allows toggling between mobile-viewable streams and desktop-optimized streams. And gaming platform Steam also adds live in-game offers too. According to Engadget, no Android and other updates are still announced.
