Excitement is over now. As the new iPhone 5S model is just officially announced. Apple's Jony Ive shows the iPhone 5S video at launch event in town hall of Cupertino headquarters, California. All rumored specs of the device are confirmed now. The surprising element for me is the price of the new device. The iPhone 5S will start at $199 for the 16GB model,32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399. But a two-year contract is must for these prices.
Also the 2 new coloring options are also there for iPhone 5S. Brand new gray and gold iPhone 5S variants are shown at the launch event in Cupertino, California along with the silver one. However, white color is missing in the iPhone 5S line-up. But iPhone 5S environmentally friendly casing will be available in 5 different colors yellow, sky blue, light brown, black and also in white. $39 is the price announced for each case.
Touch ID locking feature is confirmed now as the device includes much speculated fingerprint scanner in home button. Other specs include 64-bit A7 processor, OpenGL ES 3.0 on-board, AirDrop, a new 3D tabbed UI for Safari, same 8MP rear camera but with lens of f/2.2 aperture and 15 percent larger sensor.
You can pre-order iPhone 5S on September 13th and you will be shipped with smartphone on September 20th. iPhone 5S will be initially available in US, Australia, China, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK on September 20th. Softbank, KDDI and NTT DoCoMo will be the official carriers of iPhone 5S in Japan. Apple also announced that iPhone 5S will be launched worldwide to 270 carriers of 100 countries by the end of this year.
