Apple expected to sell 5 million new iPhones, 29% of Apple customers upgraded to iOS 7, and iTunes 11.1 launches

Analysts are predicting that Apple will sell about 5 million iPhones this weekend. Apple is expected to sell every iPhone 5S that it built and a large number of iPhone 5C smartphones as well. Overall estimates are between 5 and 6 million units sold.

Statistics show that 29% of Apple customers upgraded their devices to iOS 7 in the first 16 hours of its availability. The new version of the operating system launched yesterday and the percentage of users on the new version of the OS is expected to continue to grow.

Apple's iTunes 11.1 has officially launched bringing support for iOS 7 devices. The new version of iTunes also brings iTunes Radio and several other new features.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
