Hulu Plus Streams Its Way to Chromecast Devices

The Google Chromecast device proved very popular in a short amount of time with lots of streaming media fans picking up the unit to allow them to stream content from their smartphone or tablet to a TV. Not long ago, the Chromecast device received an update allowing it to support YouTube video content. Today Hulu announced that its Hulu Plus service is now available for Chromecast.

Hulu says that it worked closely with Google to develop the application so that it offers a seamless experience and a new way for viewers to enjoy the shows they love. The app will run on smartphones or tablets and Hulu says the core the application is a full function remote control.

The application turns your smartphone or tablet into remote allowing you to control the Hulu content that's playing on your TV screen. The customer mode has play/pause functionality and more. The application is currently available via Google Play and for the iPad. A version supporting the iPhone is coming soon.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
