Pandora and iTunes Radio are about to get some stiff competition from the likes of Rdio. The radio stations of Rdio are about to enter the American, Canadian and Australian markets. An economic niche existed in these places and now it has been filled. The music service is free of cost for app listeners on the iOS and Android platforms. Unrestricted songs according to artist, album and subcategory will lead to pleasurable aural stimulation.
A two week trial is available before users can switch to the free service. The sharing of favorites is a facility that will be available too. Everything from rock and pop and reggae to country and heavy metal will be available for listening to a crowd whose tastes are wide and varied.
New stations such as You FM and Friend FM have been added to the spectrum at Rdio. Just last week, Station Recommendations facility was made a part of the overall experience. Rdio is now entering the arena and it isn’t about to look back. It is all set to attract a variegated lot.
Rdio’s Web-Only Plan has a nominal price of almost $5 on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, the unrestricted streaming service costs about $10. Rdio has also sealed a deal with Cumulus Media. The two firms will cooperate on advertisement support for Rdio’s service.
