The giant company known as Netflix is about to make its entry into cable TV set-top boxes. And TiVo is going to aid it in its efforts in this direction. The two will cooperate to further enhance the integration of Netflix’s streaming services into the novel enterprise.
Netflix first made a pact with Virgin Media in the United Kingdom. Now it is all ready to enter the US market by melding its streaming services with set-top boxes. This is a giant step indeed for the big gun among organizations. And TiVo is to lend it a helping hand in order to see it through.
The submission to cable and satellite providers will only be possible thanks to the support lent by TiVo, which is a set-top box maker of the highest order in the United States. The leading edge technology of TiVo coupled with the high quality services of Netflix will do their magic in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
TiVo’s CEO, Tom Rogers said, “TiVo has been on a course of implementing that for cable operators. We’re very supportive of bringing Netflix into the fold so that can happen,” in an interview, according to Bloomberg.
The CEO of TiVo spoke of how this was a move that was welcomed by his company. The greatest advantage lay in the fact that the contents of Netflix could now be accessed by users without employing a gaming gadget or radically separated gizmo.
Netflix is also looking forward to discussing terms of alliance with firms such as: Cox Communications, Suddenlink Communications, RCN Telecom Services and Atlantic Broadband Finance LLC. And these organizations also employ TiVo’s superb quality products. In particular, negotiations concerning Open Connect are still an ongoing process. The future looks rosy for Netflix and for its partner in technology TiVo too.
