The BART Unions have called out a strike for Friday. The 511 organization recommends that you seek alternative transport and ideally work from home. Car pooling is another great option in case you cannot telecommute.
The contract negotations broke down last night and the unions are now on strike. TIt is not clear how long the strike is going to be.
San Francisco was in the news also yesterday for a scare on Union Square. The bigpublic space had to be evacuated because of a suspicious device. The suspicious device turned out to be a backpack and the square was reopened according to Fox News.
