Former Employee Tips Apple Is Working on a Keyboard Cover for the IPad

A former Apple employee named Jamie Ryan has started a rumor that Apple is currently working on a new keyboard accessory cover for the iPad. According to the rumor, Apple would make the keyboard cover case available for the 9.7-inch iPad and it would be similar to Microsoft's Touch Cover for the Surface tablets.

With Apple set for an event tomorrow where new iPads are expected to be launch, Ryan says he isn't sure if the keyboard accessory is far enough along to launch along with those tablets. Ryan says that while Apple already has Bluetooth wireless keyboard available for the iPad, the company feels it's not integrated enough.

Many Apple fans would probably purchase the keyboard case cover for the iPad if it was available. We should find out tomorrow if the keyboard cover is far enough along to launch.

"It's not clear whether the process is far enough along to make this Tuesday's event, but they did say a few different styles had been in testing for awhile," Ryan wrote. "This would certainly allow Apple to differentiate the larger iPad from its little brother and market it as the more 'pro' of the 2."
