Amazon Raises Free Shipping Threshold to $35 Ahead of Black Friday 2013

It looks like Amazon.com as going to make some extra cash this holiday season with a change to its free shipping guidelines ahead of Black Friday 2013 and the official kickoff of the holiday shopping season. Previously, the free shipping threshold at Amazon.com was $25.

Amazon has now increased that free shipping threshold $35 making a $10 increase. This is probably way to help push consumers to joining Amazon Prime that offers unlimited free two-day shipping and very low cost next day shipping during the business week.

The upping of the minimum free shipping threshold to $35 is the first change in over a decade Amazon has made to shipping charges. It's really no surprise considering that the cost of shipping items has gone up significantly over the last 10 years.
