JBL Pulse Has a Built-In LED Light Show

JBL has pulled the wraps off a new portable speaker called the Pulse that can be pre-ordered right now for $199.95. Pre-orders for the device are expected to ship on November 13, so they should be to you in time for holiday shopping. The portable speaker uses Bluetooth to connect to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets for music playback.

The Pulse does more than play music though with an integrated LED light show that is in sync with color and brightness to the music you're listening to. The audio device uses a pair 40 mm drivers and has a bass port for improved bass reproduction. Power comes from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

That battery is good for up to 10 hours of audio only and up to five hours of audio and light show. The light show is programmable and the user can choose from five pre-programmed themes and download new options. When the speaker launches it will be available in Best Buy and Sprint retail stores.
