Google’s Mysterious Barge will be Google X Showroom

The wait is over. After much speculation by outsiders, Google has let the cat out of the bag. Its mystery boat in the San Francisco Bay area is to serve as a showroom. Google X, the top secret laboratory owned by the giant is to invite special clientele aboard this vessel. The various products it churns out will get displayed this way.

Luxurious showrooms and a full-fledged party deck will feature on the barge in the near future. And the VIP customers will be invited on an exclusive basis. It has been a year since Google came up with plans for the barge. In fact, it was a favorite obsession of Sergey Brin, one of the co-founders of Google.

The project was an attempt by the experts at Google to give Apple Incorporated a run for its money. Apple has built many retail stores and Google was lacking in this department. Well, not anymore. Those offered a rare peek behind the scenes say that the first three floors of the barge consist of sparkling showrooms. And the upper deck is all ready for the partying crowd.

The fact that the compartments on the barge could be substituted ensures mobility and portability. This also solves the other half of the equation. The second mystery barge in Portland, Maine is therefore linked with this floating Google store of sorts. The sea-faring vessel reserved for Google will add to its reputation as a savvy marketer.
