Kmart beats all other retailers in terms of earliest Thanksgiving Day opening hours. The Kmart Black Friday 2013 Sale opens already at 6am on Thanksgiving Day.

Sears Holding announced that the Kmart Black Friday 2013 Sale starts already at 6am on Thanksgiving Day. Stores will stay open through 11pm on Black Friday. This means the Kmart Black Friday 2013 sale has a duration of 41 hours in the stores.

The Sears Black Friday 2013 sale starts at the already standard 8pm time on Thanksgiving Day.

"Sears and Kmart have been leaders in integrated retail, delivering convenient options to create a more rewarding shopping experience for our members, while blurring the boundaries between offline and online shopping," said Leena Munjal, senior vice president customer experience and integrated retail, Sears Holdings. "Our Shop Your Way members have the option to shop anytime, anywhere and anyway they want ? especially during the busiest shopping weekend of the year."

Kmart has a history of 22 years of beeing open on Thanksgiving Day. It is the 3rd year for Sears stores to be open on Thanksgiving Day.

I am not a fan of the Thanksgiving Day in store Black Friday sales. I like the idea of shopping the Black Friday online sales on Thanksgiving Day and then shop in stores on Black Friday if that is still necessary.

This year Black Friday is rather late falling on November 29th, 2013. Last year, Black Friday was on November 23rd. Retailers will have four full weeks to please you with special Black Friday 2013 sales until the culmination of the actual Black Friday and the encore on Cyber Monday 2013 (December 2nd).
