It's easy to pick the best toys around. But what about the worst toys? The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood or CCFC has just released the list of nominees for this year's TOADY (Toys Oppressive And Destructive to Young Children) Award.
The CCFC scanned thousands of toys and picked the ones that "promote precocious sexuality to children and push branded and screen-based entertainment at the expense of children’s play." The list, now narrowed down to five, includes the popular Monopoly Empire by Hasbro, the PLAY-DOH Create ABCs app, the "The Real Tooth Fairies" online game, Fisher Price's Imaginext Mega Apatosaurus, and the 2-in-1 iPotty with Activity Seat for iPad.
The CCFC was blunt to point Hasbro's brand-centric approach on Monopoly Empire. Also, it criticized the boring PLAY-DOH Create ABC’s app for killing creativity among kids and the insane $59.90 per year VIP membership on "The Real Tooth Fairies." Check out the full list here.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
