The killing of lead character in TV show these days does not stop at animated shows. Last night the Family Guy dog Brian got ran over by a car.

Brian the dog from the Family Guy is gone. He got run over by a car in the yesterday's Family Guy episode titled "Life of Brian." The Griffins already though got a new dog. Paulie (Tony Sirico) from the Sopranos is the voice of Vinny.

E! Online has some background on why the producers of Family Guy decided to kill Brian. I think it is just this new trend in TV series to kill off lead characters to keep things fresh. Recent high profile departures happened on popular shows like Person of Interest and Sons of Anarchy.

Fox offers up full episodes of Family Guy online here. If you login with your TV provider login and password you can watch the full episode of Life of Brian now.
