New Nintendo 2DS bundles coming soon

Nintendo has had some of the most popular portable game consoles for years. Nintendo's popularity started with the DS and DSi portable consoles. The Nintendo 3DS is the newer portable from Nintendo and while it has good games, some people don’t care for the 3D effects it offers. Not too long ago Nintendo unveiled the 2DS game console that is able to play Nintendo 3DS games in 2D only.

Nintendo is trying to take advantage of the Holiday shopping season and has announced a couple new Nintendo 2DS bundles just in time for the Christmas season. The bundles are the Nintendo 2DS with either Pokemon X or Pokemon Y and will be available on December 6.

The console bundles will sell for $149.99 and includes one of the games. The Pokemon X bundle will include a red 2Ds system and will be amiable at Target exclusively. The Pokemon Y bundle will be a Toys "R" Us exclusive and will feature a blue Nintendo 2DS for $149.99. The Target bundle will include the game pre-installed on the console. The bundle at Toys "R" Us will come with the game loaded on a SD card.

Nintendo said, "The Nintendo 2DS system maintains many of the same hardware features as Nintendo 3DS, like touch-screen controls, StreetPass, online multiplayer functionality and the ability to download games in the Nintendo eShop. Without any hinges, the durable Nintendo 2DS is a great first-time system for kids. In addition, Nintendo 2DS is backward compatible and can play the huge existing library of Nintendo DS games."
