Gran Turismo 6 Raced onto PS3 Friday

Sony officially launched the latest game in the Gran Turismo franchise on December 6. That means that right now Gran Turismo 6 is available for gamers to purchase. The game launched exclusively on the PS3 game console leaving the PS4 out. Gran Turismo is one of the most popular franchise Sony has to offer and one of the most popular racing game titles on the market.

Sony says that GT6 has over 1200 cars and 120 of those rides are in a Gran Turismo game for the very first time. The vehicles available for players include a huge roaster of historic cars, road cars, and racing cars. The game also has a number of racing circuits from around the world and some circuits that are only available in GT6. The game has a total of 37 tracks and seven of them are all new to the franchise.

The game also features online game play allowing drivers to race against others from around the world. Sony promises that the game will receive regular updates. The updates will add new features more cars, new functionality, and other content.

"2013 has been a banner year for PlayStation 3 with Sony Worldwide Studios delivering some of the highest regarded games on any console," said Asad Qizilbash, senior director of first party games marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We are excited to continue that legacy with the launch of the legendary Gran Turismo 6. Polyphony Digital Inc. continues to challenge the boundaries of the racing genre, firmly establishing Gran Turismo as an automotive brand in itself."

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
