The Chicago Archdiocese of the Catholic Church has decided to bring its sex abuse files in the knowledge of the public. This is being done in order to prevent any future incidents of child molestation by priests.

At least 30 priests who had a bad reputation of being child abusers have had their names released to the public in Chicago. This came about after their victims’ families caused an uproar related to the abuses of authority in the ranks of the church.

Before this event, most of the child abusing priests had been shifted to other locations where they most probably renewed their nefarious activities. But this is not going to happen anymore.

With the law and parents getting stricter by the second, even the church is not beyond criticism for its excesses. And the matter is not just about any money that the families of the victims will claim. It is about preventing these habitual criminals, who are wolves in sheep’s clothing, from practicing again.

No chances can be taken in case of a child abusing person especially when it comes to sexual molestation. The scars left behind on an innocent child’s psyche due to the perverted acts carried out by certain priests are a crying shame.

These people who claim to hold the moral high ground, but actually give their profession a bad name, ought to be brought within the ambit of the law. And many of them have done there share of heinous crimes over a lifetime thereby ruining many lives.

To expose them is a must. In fact, it is the duty of every responsible parent and conscientious caretaker who values the safety and his or her children.
