The freedom-loving actress and mother, Drew Barrymore has no regrets on her past. Barrymore said that she wouldn’t allow her daughter when she grows up to pose naked in Playboy. The fact that she herself bared all at the tender age of 19 makes no difference to Drew. It looks like she truly believes in the “do as I say, don’t do as I do” motto.
Actress Drew Barrymore appeared in Steven Spielberg’s E.T. as a child actor. What happened after that is another story. She entered rehab at the young age of 13 for drug abuse and alcoholism. Then she had her wild days when she went out with boys and enjoyed the party scene.
Drew Barrymore separated from her parents and is till this day not reconciled with her mom. Ultimately, she posed in the nude for Hugh Hefner’s Playboy. But today she is a grownup and mature mom who prefers to be a role model for her daughter.
"I have no regrets in my life whatsoever," Barrymore said in an interview with ABC News' Amy Robach. "I'm psyched about it all. I'm just in such a different mind frame. I'm in mom mode now."
She does not want the same fate for her children as she suffered in her childhood. Drew said that if she exposed everything for a pornographic magazine that was her choice. It was not necessary for her daughter to follow in her footsteps. She would not allow her to take such a radical decision. And she said that she would do all that lay in her power to dissuade her from opting for such a bad alternative.
"I would not let her [pose for Playboy]," Barrymore said. "My life choices are not supposed to be the gateway to somebody else's. That's my journey."
Drew is married and has an eighteen month baby girl named Olive. And she is in a family way with another baby girl. She said that she doesn’t believe in the life she led during her days as a teenager. All that is behind her and she wants to be a responsible adult and parent now.
