Agnieszka Radwanska soundly defeated Belarussian Victoria Azarenka at the Australian Open. It was sweet revenge in its ultimate form. The score was 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 and the winner took it all while the loser had a fall.

The clash of the femme fatales led to some smashing shots by both sides. But victory went to the bolder and more confident, Agnieszka Radwanska. After a series of losses, she went on to snatch the coveted prize.

The Polish-born, Radwanska kept up the psychological pressure and finally finished off her opponent after 120 minutes of anguish in the Australian heat. She had previously failed to gain the edge over Serena Williams two years ago.

That was a tragedy of the worst sort and she was determined to outdo herself this time against Azarenka. Radwanska has admitted this much that though the pain of former losses remains, one has to forget and overlook such details for the sake of professional purposes.

Meanwhile, Azarenka made quite a few blunders which plagued her performance at the semifinals. Her rival Pole was being assertive and took her chances instinctively. But Azarenka got stuck in a rut which unfortunately was her doom.

Azarenka said this much at her loss that it was not the end of things. She is all geared for fighting her way back to the top.

In other words, Azarenka believes that there is always room for improvement at the top. The desperation of Radwanska added some adrenaline to her already superb performance. Till the next time, when she faces off Azarnka, she remains the Queen of the Quest.
