Xbox One is Losing Sales War to PS4

The results were obvious on eBay. Sony’s PS4 was selling twice as much as Xbox One. This is a worrying trend for Microsoft. And the even more worrisome indicator is that this pattern is continuing to occur despite the changing times

Over 65,000 PS4s and 33,000 Xbox Ones have been purchased from the eBay website. The leading edge that PS4 has over Xbox One may be due to a greater demand. However, it may also be a response to the supply side economic factors in the retail centers. And while the PS4 sold out in a matter of days, the Xbox One still has a lot of stocks that will last it for some time.

Both Sony and Microsoft were on an even keel throughout most of the previous month. But, recently the ascent of the PS4 has sent ripples of envy and anxiety among the Xbox One manufacturers at Microsoft. The wise and shrewd Japanese may know a thing or two that has escaped the attention of Bill Gates.

Otherwise how could this huge gap have taken place? The rift in sales between the two devices is significant. It points in the direction of change for Microsoft and vigilance in case of Sony. The former may overtake its rival while the latter may lose its position as #1.

It must have hurt to do it, but Microsoft's decision to strip Kinect out of Xbox One and lower the price of the console feels like the right one overall.
