Lorde Receives Accolades at the Grammys 2014

The singer of the hit song “Royals”, Lorde, was looking forward to the 2014 Grammy Awards night with eager anticipation. The fact that she received several accolades came as somewhat of a surprise for her parents. Both of them are in shock at her resounding success.

Lorde deals in unconventional music. The alternative and weird style of singing nevertheless caught on with the crowd of audiophiles who are into pleasurable listening. The singer won two awards at the 56th Grammy Awards.

Firstly, hers was the Best Pop Solo Performance. She grabbed a trophy for that one. Then as if this was not enough, she went on to snatch decisive victory due to her song “Royals”. It was declared Song of the Year

Both her parents saw her winning the awards on television and they were absolutely stunned by their daughter’s extraordinary achievements.

Lorde's mother in particular spoke how she just sat there in utter shock. As for her Pop, he was dumbfounded and positively thrilled by his darling offspring’s performance. 

Back in New Zealand, where she hails from, the citizens of her land were honored by the name and fame their favorite singer had brought them. 

Lorde has a real name besides her media persona. It is Ella Yelich O’Conner. She spoke at the end of the show that “the weirdo had won out”. This was in reference to her winning two trophies which was quite an accomplishment alright. According to Lorde, she still sometimes resorts to public transport back home.
