The Super Bowl 2014 is finally here today. The Big Game will have the Denver Broncos face-off against the Seattle Seahawks. The game also means a game between generations. 37 year old Payton Manning goes against 25 year old Russell Wilson. Speaking of Russell Wilson. He will star in the American Family Insurance Super Bowl Ad. It is not a national Super Bowl ad. It will air only in markets the insurer is doing business. The ad for American Family Insurance debuts in targeted markets on game day and features Wilson walking from a stadium tunnel onto the playing field while reflecting on what it takes to pursue and achieve your dream. You can watch the 60 second ad below.
“Pursuing your dreams is never easy,” said Telisa Yancy, American Family’s vice president of marketing. “Russell Wilson’s commitment to his goals, both on and off the field, is an inspiration for all dreamers. We believe he personifies what our company stands for and we are honored to tell his story in a way that encourages others.”
According to Myles Romero, American Family’s advertising director, the company is being very strategic about their advertising investment.
“By running the ad in select markets where we do business, we can make our investment go much further,” said Myles. “This approach costs significantly less, while still allowing us to reach millions of viewers. We’ll also draw on social media to continue the conversation, using the hashtag #longlivedreams in Twitter and Facebook posts. The company will also release advance clips of the commercial via social media.”
The ad is part of American Family’s Dream Ambassadors program of which Wilson is an integral part along with Kathy Ireland, Phillip Phillips, Steve Stricker and Olympian Jessie Vetter.
Super Bowl 2014 will take place in New Jersey on February 2. The big game will be played in the Metlife stadium in East Rutherford. It will be the first outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl. The Broncos will take on the Seahawks. We are bringing you again full coverage of the Super Bowl Ads in our Super Bowl Hub and on Super Bowl Ads for Geeks.
