Dale Earnhardt Jr. may yet win the Cup

He is a very popular race car driver. Dale Earnhardt Jr . has all the support he needs to buck him up in his efforts at winning at the Daytona races. The very fact that he is the son of an illustrious father, who himself was so famous in his days, makes him worthy of fan worship. But something is not right here.

The high praise comes with its expectations which have mounted with the passage of time. Everyone wants Dale Jr. to do something and not just rest on his laurels. In other words, he has his list of detractors. The fact that the man has let some of the old charisma and chutzpah slip by are cause for criticism by hecklers in the crowd.

Some even think that NASCAR’s recent renewal of the Chase was merely done in order to make it easier for Earnhardt to win the title. But this simply reeks of conspiracy theory allegations. In fact, it has no truth to it. There is no guarantee he’ll win this time although it is likely. The odds come out even.

He has already lost his winning streak so how he will fare this time around is pure chance. If he works hard at the game of adrenaline-fueled speed he may stand a chance. But luck plays a role too. It’s a matter of which period in the sport’s history you belong to. And for Dale Earnhardt Jr. the golden times may be behind him now.
