The singers of songs that will be remembered forever in the public memory will get to perform live at the NBA Series this year. They include in their ranks such well-known names as Janelle Monae and Trombone Shorty.
Earth, Wind & Fire will be there in all its resplendent glory. And so will Janelle Monae and Trombone Shorty. They will combine and form a syncretism of their individual musical styles into a medley of sorts that will wow the audience at the NBA Series to be held at New Orleans.
Especially, Monae’s unforgettable “The Electric Lady” will figure in the musical numbers that will make their way into the hotchpotch. Shorty in particular expressed his gratitude upon being asked to represent his city with which he had formed such deep ties.
The music of New Orleans truly resonated with Trombone Shorty and he was mighty proud of it. He has often acted in the capacity of a musical mascot for the NBA. It is something he simply loves to do.
Shorty feels that all this ought to take place on a larger scale. Monae meanwhile is a female Black American star that has skyrocketed into the stratosphere as far as fame and name are concerned. She spoke in favorable terms about Shorty.
She said that Shorty wanted some female to collaborate with him this time around. And who could be better than Janelle Monae when it comes to female singers with a strong voice.
According to Monae, Shorty was indeed the king of New Orleans. When all these stars got together in terms of an exchange of ideas, it inspired them to plan to perform at the NBA Series in New Orleans. Monae even went so far as to say that she didn’t need to rehearse since it was all in her memory bank.
The event is slated to drive the crowd wild. Almost the whole of the audience will be out of their seats and dancing in response to the funky music.

OutKast, QOTSA and more in Sweden…Held in Gothenburg, Sweden, Way Out West is one of the more scenically attractive city festivals on the European circuit. Taking over the Slottsskogen City Park, it wraps itself around a duck-filled lake, presenting four stages of daytime entertainment before spilling into the local clubs, bars and even opera houses for its late-night fix, Stay Out West. See what they did there? Bloody clever, these Swedes.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
