WWE's Vince McMahon interested in buying Newcastle soccer team
Anyone who has ever watched the professional wrestling organization WWE knows who Vince McMahon is. While McMahon may be best known for his often odd antics in the wrestling world, the WWE behemoth is a major moneymaker. McMahon is a billionaire.
Rumors are circulating that McMahon is sniffing around and may buy the Newcastle Premiere League soccer team or football as most countries call it. The rumor claims that no official bids have been made and that talks are at an early stage.
McMahon is said to be keen to expand his wrestling empire to the UK and sees the purchase of Newcastle as a way to do that expansion. McMahon is a fan of English football according to reports and might even have wrestling matches at the team stadium.
A top Newcastle source told Winner Sports, “Vince McMahon has been sniffing around the club and seems keen on pursuing his interest.
“He sees England as an untapped market for his wrestling empire. He has even indicated he could put on wrestling bouts at St James’s Park
“Obviously it is very early days but there is hope the fans may get what they want with Ashley leaving. Buying a club like Newcastle would throw him into the spotlight in England which is just what he is looking to do.”
