Fame often has a price that must be paid and sometimes it is too great. Take the case of the beautiful and charming songstress Taylor Swift. She has many fans spread out throughout the United States not to mention the rest of the world. Yet some of them take the obsession and manic behavior too far.
Previously, a Wisconsin man tried to scale her residential fence. When accosted by the authorities, he claimed he wanted to give her a surprise. Now however a man named Timothy Sweet seems to have crossed the line and become a public enemy #1 in the process. He is a sick man who is deluded into believing that Taylor Swift is his wife.
Sweet has been harassing the star since the past three odd years. He has sent email after email to her and also letter upon letter professing his one-sided love. Some of the contents of these messages are very disturbing and psychopathic.
Sweet says that he will personally kill anyone who tries to intervene between him and the country singer. He goes to the extent of saying (for some reason known only to him) that John Kerry should stay away from Taylor. Then he goes on to deliver a message that is the ultimate sign of brain-damaged derangement.
He says that he is living in Beverly Hills with Taylor who is his wife and that he is afraid some family members of Taylor Swift’s household could get killed in the future. It was here that Taylor Swift decided that things had gone too far. She approached the law enforcement authorities and got a restraining order against the fiendish Sweet.
Swift send messages like:
- If anyone in Taylor Swift's family gets killed, it is not my fault.
- My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life.
- Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate.
Now he is not supposed to come within a hundred yards of her or her family members. The problem of stalkers and nasty fans is very common in today’s media-saturated world. Several other celebrities such as Halle Berry, Pamela Anderson and Catherine Zeta-Jones have faced similar issues as the ordeal Taylor Swift is currently undergoing.
