You know and love your iPhone like the back of your hand. However, you don’t love it so much when it begins to crash and lag because of a slow operating system.
Once your phone begins to crash due to over production, you may begin to believe you will have to trash your current prized possession and buy a new one. On the contrary, there are many solutions to speeding up your Apple-manufactured device and continuing the use of it. Here are some great tips to increase the speed of your current iPhone, without putting any money out for a new one:
Don't Miss: The Hottest CES 2017 Highlights
- Delete Unwanted Apps, Music, and Pictures – This may seem like a no brainer, but your phone collects thousands of files every day. Go through it at least once a week and delete what you do not need anymore. Sometimes, you may take screenshots to show someone, and these can add up quickly, so be sure to delete these too as time progresses. You will also find that you download apps and music that you never even touch and they are just wasted space on your phone... DELETE THEM! They are part of the cause of your phone lagging, and that is not good.
- Turn off background apps – Once you are finished with an app, you may think just clicking your home button will close it out; however, this is not the case. You must double tap your home button and clear out all open and running apps that you are not using anymore. *This will not delete apps, but simply close them out to save battery life and speed up your processor.*
- The new iOS 7 update includes parallax, animation, and motion sensors which enhance the fun senses of your iPhone set up. However, these items can cause your phone to slow down significantly, due to the sensors and motions trying to all come together in one place. Go to settings and shut this option off with the toggle switch, if you feel that this is what is slowing down your precious apple iPhone.
- If you found that your phone is so slow that you cannot type a sentence in a text message without it lagging badly, then you may want to consider restoring your phone as new through iTunes. This will restore all manufacturer settings, but do not worry; you can retrieve all files that you want ported back onto your phone. This is just a simple way for the processor to clean itself up, and get a jumpstart battery life. This is great for feeling like you have a brand new iPhone without spending all the money on it!
As you have seen, there are many ways you can speed up your iPhone and prevent those stressful headaches due to a phone that can barely function without waiting 20 minutes to complete one simple task, like sending a text message. These are wonderful ways on clearing up your iPhone so it can run smoothly and efficiently again!
