Though we had a full intro with the S5 at the MWC, there are still lots of things under the cover by Apple, LG, Microsoft, and Amazon
Though it has been long since the CES and the MWC events of this year have gone past us but they are still not ready to become history since both have left behind a long list of devices which everyone is waiting to get their hands or eyes on. We have the S5 completely revealed by now but Apple, LG, Microsoft, and Amazon still have to play their major moves and we are anxiously waiting for them. Here is a list of all the upcoming highly anticipated phones of this year and dont panic when you dont find the iPhone 6 on this list. Apple is certainly going to launch the phone but so far we dont have any reliable information in the phone to share with you.
We might think that with a price tag as high as Apple's at a whopping $629, fewer units will sell for this one. But the truth here is that there is no other phone like it. It is an Android phone which has been designed in such a way that it will protect the individuals from all sorts of companies and governments who are trying to get their hands on some personal information on individuals. A specialised heavy privacy-oriented software has been preloaded on the phone. The phone will not be available through the regular US carriers but will have to be bought directly.
The Amazon Phone
We cant really separate the rumors from the real facts because a lot of hype has been going around this news of Amazon making its own phone. So far we have only heard that there will be one or two phones and one of them might even have a simulated 3D UI created by tracking the user's head position. It has been stated so far that these phones will be sold at cost.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen announced the Q20 at the MWC this year and this new phone is here to make all the old-school BlackBerry users happy. The Q20 is here to satisfy these customers who think that the hardware keyboard with a trackpad, Send, and End buttons is very essential to the BB experience. This BlackBerry 10 phone is going to have a 3.5-inch touch screen and will run both the BlackBerry's new OS and also whatever Android apps users would want on it. This is certainly going to push the BlackBerry back into the world of lawyers and businessmen.
LG G3 / Google Nexus 6
We will see Google's next Nexus phone on the Google's I/O conference which is going to be held on June 25. From what we are hoping, the phone will not be tagged as the Nexus 6 because the sad Androids also followed the same naming policies in Blade Runner but nothing has been confirmed as yet and this conference is still a long wait away. According to the rumors, this phone will also be based on the same hardware platform as LG's 2014 flagship, the G3 which is also scheduled to make an appearance closer to this date. It is rumored to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and a 2,560-by-1,440 5.5-inch screen.
Samsung Galaxy S5
Thanks to the MWC 2014 for giving us the Galaxy S5 and we are pretty sure that by now you all would know plenty about it. The phone is ready to roll out in April and will be available through all the major carriers in US and quite honestly it looks like the predecessor S4. April has not been confirmed as the official month of release but we should be looking forward to it from sometime between April and June.
New HTC One (M8)
This phone has been given a lot of names during the rumor season but most of the sales people are referring to it as the New HTC One. The wait is finally coming to an end as the 25th of March is just a few days away and then we will be able to know everything about the new phone which is not similar to the HTC One phone but can be called an upgraded version of it.
The Yotaphone model for this yeat isnt going to be coming from the US but the next year's model will be. You will be left with a jaw dropped open after you read on the amazing specs of the phone. It features a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display and 4.7-inch 960-by-540 E-Ink display and the screen is fully capacitive touch enabled. This will allow you to interact with the E-Ink display for tasks such as web browsing. The phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.4 KitKat inside and is expected to show up during early 2015.
Samsung W750 "Huron"
The upcoming Samsung W750 "Huron" has also made the popular rounds on the internet this year and we are expecting to look at a Windows Phone based on the Samsung Galaxy S4 hardware platform.
