This morning Californians got a reminder that the earthquake threat is always present. a 6.9 earthquake occurred near Ferndale, Ca. No injuries have been reported yet.
According to Google Public Alerts, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit 49 miles off shore from Ferndale and Humboldt Hill. Californians should expect aftershocks. This is the largest earthquake to hit California since 2010 according to LA Times. There are no injury reports yet. It looks like this earthquake was just a reminder that the big one can hit anytime.

The 6.9 earthquake near Ferndale was only one of many to hit over the last 24 hours. The other ones were though much smaller.
