With requirements for Boot Camp being updated, the Windows 7 installation will no longer be supported
The new Mac Pro which was released by the end of the previous year was only supporting Windows 8 and above installation and that too only through the Boot camp. And now the Boot Camp requirements have been updated by Apple on the support webpage and now the latest gen Mac Pro is going to be the first to drop support for any Windows 7 installation.

There will be no such option for installation of a Windows 7 and the only options you will have will include Windows 8, 8.1 or later version of the Microsoft’s OS. The upcoming hardware updates on the Macs are most likely to receive these changes by Apple but so far the current generation of iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac mini support the 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.
