I always thoughts that Van Pelt was there for noting more than eye candy, she rarely had the good story lines and over the last couple of season was relegated to nothing more than holding down the office. I never liked the character played by Yeoman.
I am glad to see that Cho and the others continue on. I liked the original Mentalist premise, but I am glad to see them move on from Red John finally. The show is in danger of being cancelled if rumors are to be believed. I hope that doesn't happen, The Mentalist is a good show and is still fun to watch.
The final episode with the two actors is called "White as the Driven Snow" and starts with Van Pelt kidnapped. Both characters made it out alive, which is to be expected. The show isn’t really known for killing off main characters, Game of Thrones it is not. Rigsby was offered a job with the FBI, but turned it down and he and his wife head off into the sunset with the new baby to care for. I wonder if we will see any main characters go. It's nice to see the story line for Rigsby and Van Pelt wrapped up nicely rather than just left hanging.

About the Geek Mind
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
