Samsung factory worker dies of CO2 leakage

A malfunction takes place in the Samsung factory causing a death of a worker.

Yonhap News which is a Korean News channel revealed that a Samsung planet, located at Southern Seoul had one of its workers die as a result of a carbon dioxide gas leakage. The Samsung factory encountered problems in its fire extinguishing system due to which carbon dioxide was released. The fire was wrongly detected consequent to which a 52 year old worker passed away.

This is the most recent accident that has taken place at Samsung factories since the past 18 months, causing many to be concerned about the conditions of the workers stationed at Samsung South Korea. Similar to this, a huge hydrofluoric acid leakage at Samsung’s main chip factory located at Hwaseong caused another death in January 2013 and also caused 4 workers to be injured severely with 3 workers having minor injuries.  

The news has been confirmed by Samsung through its official website. With this they company also added that in the future such accidents will be taken all measures against to prevent. The police are carrying out investigation in order to realize the exact cause of the leakage. There is no news to suggest that Samsung will be fined more than the usual $1000 fine.
