Richard Donner, the film’s director claims that there will most definitely be a Goonies sequel. The 1985 clique classic is, no doubt resuscitated by the film's chief, Richard Donner, who tells TMZ, "We're doing a spin-off." The children's escapade film was scripted by Chris Columbus, before his triumphs with Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and The Help, around others.
The Goonies featured Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen and Martha Plimpton on a journey to discover a pirate treasure. At the point when asked which unique cast parts might be returning for Goonies sequel, Donner answered, "Surely every one of them."
While Donner formerly said that he didn't think there was going to be a continuation, Astin never surrendered trust, telling IGN in 2012, that the cast were still great companions and thus restoring his trust in the Goonies sequel. By saying that he is 1000 % certain regarding the sequel he follows on to say that the Goonies are not intended to die down. Astin even bets his children on the Goonies sequel.
