Logitech plans on releasing auto-dimming keyboard

In the dark it is often difficult to locate the volume button on one’s TV remote, however pressing the F7 on a QWERTY keyboard seems even harder. Logitech has a solution for controlling one’s home theatre PC as well as connected TV once the lights have been turned off.

It also contains a new wireless backlit keyboard alongside a dim-based feature in ambient light. The keyboard saves power by disabling the lighting entirely once a time lapse of 5 seconds of non-usage has taken place. The device is also rechargeable and packs a built-in tracking pad. It has a 33 foot range with the help of its 2.4 GHz connectivity.

The K830 does not entail control features for all possible devices as is the case with its Harmony counterpart, however the dark-room features seem quite helpful and reasonable since they are $50 cheaper. Logitech expects its device to get released in the US as well as Europe within this month for 100 dollars/euros; coinciding with the Philomena on Blu-ray.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
