A return to the timeless classics of the 80s was what American Idol held in store for audiences everywhere. The talented group of rising stars that had emerged from the masses sang one by one to an engaged crowd of music lovers.
The one hit that really impressed both the judges and the listeners was Time After Time which was originally sung by Cyndi Lauper. Sam Woolf sang this number and won hearts and minds among the onlookers.
Meanwhile, Alex Preston took everyone by surprise with his rendition of Every Breath You Take. However, the crowning achievement easily goes to Caleb Johnson for his version of “Faithfully”. It was a jewel of a performance. The Girl Is Mine by the late and great Michael Jackson, also got sung by an admirer.
The judges gave their mixed comments on all the voices and lyrics. Jena who sang I Love Rock’n’Roll got points for originality and authenticity. However, the song was a bit too stilted due to over-planning.
Dexter who sang Keep Your Hands to Yourself was not quite synchronous in his delivery. However, J.Lo liked the overall affect he had on the audience.
Sam and Alex’s performance of The Girl Is Mine had some improvements which needed to be made in it. Malaya with her rendition of Through The Fire was advised to partake in the vocals a bit more.
Time After Time singer Sam Woolf was told to be a bit more natural despite his star performance. And Every Breath You Take singer Alex was given the apt comments by the judges that he needed to entertain instead of just act like a performer. Meanwhile,“Faithfully” singer Caleb was a bit out of sorts but his overall act was absolutely brilliant.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
