Virtuix presents the Omni virtual reality treadmill
The Virtuix's Omni treadmill is based upon the newly embraced concept of virtual reality and it brings the treadmill in a different virtual reality platform which allows the users to run and walk in any direction in the games they are playing. So basically the users can play games using their very own legs. The first of the orders will begin to ship from July and these will be for the users who have already pre ordered. This new virtual reality treadmill comes in a package which is going to cost you $500 and includes the treadmill unit, a pair of shoes, a support harness, mini-game and tracking software and hardware. However, this package does not include the shipping cost but includes a one year warranty. For those who are going to pre order their virtual treadmills now will receive them by the month of September.
The pre oders were taken by Virtuix in August last year which had followed a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign that ended in July. The virtual reality treadmill developer has so far managed to raise $1.1 million on the crowdfunding platform and has already pushed well past its $150,000 goal in its first day.
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
