Lytro is a platform that has inspired heights of excellence in science and technology. As light and colorful experience-collectors, its cameras hold the world in miniature form within their image-gathering fields of vision.
The world’s photographers and shutterbugs are all the richer for the presence of this device that beats the rest hands down. What began as a journey approximately eight years ago has come full circle today.
Lytro states on offical website, "We humans. Always looking forward or looking back. Rarely in the moment. That’s why the advent of photography seemed so magical to us. We could capture time. Time from the past. But what if we could stay in the moment? What if we could explore a living picture?"
Just 24 months back the company introduced its Liquid Field Camera which was all the rage in the world of view-worthy gadgets. At present, its cameras are a global phenomenon. And the new Lytro Illum is so futuristic and space age in its design that the very being of this gizmo lies beyond the human imagination. You have to see it to believe it.
According to company, LYTRO ILLUM is "the first high-end camera that harnesses the power of light field – capturing the direction, color and brightness of the rays of light within the frame. That means the ability to explore your pictures from different perspectives, focal points and dimensions."
Among its major specifications are many of the latest components that are the stuff that dreams are made of. Its sensible and portable form has 86mm X 145mm X 166mm dimensions that make it shine out with sharp brilliance.
Close to two pounds in weight, this form-follows-function contraption is composed of the twin metals: magnesium and aluminum. As for the holding handle and rings surrounding the lenses, they are made of silicone.
The focal length is absolutely adequate for the purpose of taking crystal clear pictures. And the zoom factor is eight times the original picture size. With an f/2.0 aperture, it has a CMOS sensor.
A Snapdragon Processor by Qualcomm Incorporated is present in the internal makeup as well. The four inch touch Liquid Crystal Display rear screen does full justice to the photographer lucky enough to hold the Lytro Illum in his hands.
"A new era of photography has arrived. Now, with LYTRO ILLUM, nothing stands in your way from telling a deeper story by truly capturing life in a different light," says the company.
Lytro Illum is currently available on a pre-order at special introductory price of $1499. And its estimated ship date is 15th July 2014. After that, it will be available at regular price of $1599. This is the much awaited camera since the year 2007. It can surprise and delight the people, specially professional photographers, who buy it by its versatility and visionary features.
