We have had a long time period of waiting for the first Android phone by OnePlus and after so many teasers and leaks, the phone has been announced. The OnePlus One is going to surprise quite a lot of us and talking about its features and specs, the One is going to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (8974AC) platform with a quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU and an impressive 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It sports a 5.5 inch full HD JDI-made with an amazing pixel density of 401ppi.
The One is going to feature CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 KitKat and working with the ROM team has helped OnePlus to bring a special minimal and flat UI. Some custom themes and features will also be packed inside the phone which have exclusively been made for it. OnePlus has previously toyed around with a lot of materials for the design but to maintain the optimal level of weight and perfect quality at the same time, it appeared that stainless steel and aluminum were not the best options. Instead, magnesium has been used to build the phone and the material has helped to cut down on the weight which has now been brought down to 162 grams. According to OnePlus, this is the lightest 5.5 inch phone in the world.
The phone somehow lacks in some departments and even the company regrets some decisions. For instance, they agree that the phone would have ended up looking so much better if they had made use of metal side borders. This would have required some extra effort on the company's part because this was creating problems with signals as well as the weight. Now the One measures 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm with the edges of the phone measure 4.6mm.
