Blu Products Studio 6.0 HD smartphone lands for $249

Blu Products has been making unlocked smartphones on the cheap for a number of years. The company has a new offering that has just launched called the Studio 6.0 HD. This smartphone has a 6-inch 720 x 1280 resolution screen with 245ppi.

"This is the best Studio Series phone we have ever made, using the latest display technologies for an out-of-this-world viewing experience," said Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO, BLU Products. "In addition, the Studio 6.0 HD is designed with an extremely thin bezel around the display, making the device perfect to comfortably handle."

The unlocked smartphone supports 4G HSPA+ connectivity. An 8MP rear camera with LED flash is on the back and the front camera is a 2MP unit. A MediaTek MT6582 processor running at 1.3GHz is under the hood. That rear camera is able to record full HD resolution video.

WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi Hotspot, and a FM tuner are all built in. The phone also has accelerometer, proximity sensors, and a gyroscope built-in as well. Internal storage is 4GB, but the smartphone has a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB.

Blu equips the phone with a 1GB of RAM. The phone measures 168 x 83 x 8.5mm and weighs 206 grams. Power comes from a non-removable 3000 mAh internal battery. Android 4.2 is the OS right out of the box, but Blu promises an Android 4.4 update by the end of May. White or black colors are available for $249.99.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
