He had been in coma
Eric Hill, a contestant on Andi Dorfman's upcoming season of The Bachelorette, died Wednesday after his parachute collapsed while paragliding in Utah over the weekend. He was 31.
"Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away," his sister Karen Tracy posted on Facebook.
The accident occurred on Sunday and he had been in a coma, his family said.
"He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth," his sister wrote. "It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures. We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday. I love you so much, little brother!"
Since February 2013, the adventurer and extreme-sports enthusiast has been on a trek dubbed "The Global Odyssey" – also known as "GO with Eric" – to travel to every country in the world in fewer than 1,200 days.
While Hill had taken time off from his record-breaking mission to film ABC's The Bachelorette earlier this year, he had apparently already been eliminated from the show when the accident occurred. People reports that he died Wed. It is a very sad and many from the show have expressed their regards to his family for his short life. At only 31 he was very young to die so tragidly.
