Man Uses Potato To Hold Up Two Stores
A man wielding a potato as a weapon tried to rob a gas station earlier this month on April 21st in Providence, Rhode Island. The man was chased away by workers at the station with baseball bats, and managed to escape capture by the police.

With-in thirty minutes he once again tried to rob another store. This time a dry cleaning store was his target. The owners were kind enough to oblige him with a counterfeit $20 bill.
On Monday, April 28th he was questioned by law enforcement officials. Gary Deming admitted to police during an interview that he attached a potato to the end of a butane lighter to make it look as if it was a handgun according to turnto10 local news.
He’s being charged with assault with intent to commit robbery. Officials said 34-year-old Gary Deming was already being held at the ACI on other charges.
