On February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the BlackBerry Z3 was officially announced along with the Q20. The phone is now available for pre order in Indonesia and has arrived at local carriers Indosat and XL. The device is expected to launch and ship on the same date in May in Jakarta. There is also going to be an exclusive version especially for Jakarta alongside the standard Z3. The name of Jakarta will be engraved on this Jakarta version at the back panel. However, this Jakarta edition is only going to be available for a limited time period and this is only to celebrate the launch of the first BB smartphone built for the Indonesian market.
The price of the device had been unveiled earlier on as well and just as promised previously, it will be priced under $200; BlackBerry expects a price of IDR 2,199,000 (amounting to around €137 and $190). Along with this latest news, the stream of specs has been revealed once again. We didn’t get to enjoy a lot of details on this one when the Z30 was announced.
According to these details, the phone is going to feature a 5 inch qHD display with a 540 x 960 resolution. The on-board storage is of 8 GB which will also be expendable and the RAM at 1.5 GB is also pretty impressive. The phone runs on the dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor and the camera setup comprises of a 5 MP main back camera and a 1.1 MP 720p unit on the front. The device is completely touch and there is no QWERTY keyboard.
