Indian market has shown a lot of good response for low priced iPHones
So at one point we had been hearing about the discontinuation of an iPhone in India and rest of the world but on the other hand, India is also getting the 8 GB iPhone 5c. We first saw the 8 GB variant when it was unveiled in March and upon its introduction it was available in UK, France, Germany, Australia, and China and only recently its availability was expanded to additional countries, including Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, and Norway. And now India would also be able to enjoy the cheapest current-generation iPhone.
The 5c was initially launched in India with the 16 GB variant which was worth Rs. 41,900. The 8 GB model is obviously cheaper and costs EUR 50 which is Rs. 4,100 approximately. This means that we should be expecting a sub-Rs. 35,000 price tag for the 8GB iPhone 5c. Though we are all aware that the iPhone 5c comes with plenty of limitations yet we see its bright future in the Indian market. This is because Apple India has benefitted by lowering the prices of its previous models which also helped to stir demand and now that a cheaper version of the colored 5c is here, we can be sure that it will be an instant hit with the population. From what Tim Cook highlighted in Apple’s recent earnings call, the Indian market has been doing great for Apple and has also shown a growth.
