Larry is in his 50s and an accomplished author as well as an actor. He has been an integral member of Comedy Central since the past eight years or so. And whereas in the past, the show was called the Colbert Report from now onwards it will be termed The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore.
Meanwhile, Colbert in turn is to replace David Letterman. The president of Comedy Central spoke of how the channel was proud of its links with Jon Stewart.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with Jon Stewart and Busboy Productions, and are looking forward to the world getting to know Larry Wilmore even better," said Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless.
"He’s a spectacular talent in front of and behind the camera. The Minority Report With Larry Wilmore follows in the Comedy Central tradition -- bringing new perspectives to the day's events and breaking ground in the world of late-night television.”
Everyone was keenly desirous to see Larry Wilmore at the top of his game. The man is definitely a very seasoned player in the field of mass media.
Minority Report executive producer Stewart also welcomes Wilmore. He said, “While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan.”
Late night TV just won’t remain the same with Larry on board. He is indeed a remarkable fellow who knows the ins and outs as well as the ABCs of his locus of control.
Not for a single second does Larry lose focus and he gives it his all every time he appears on air. This is just the sort of dedicated, honest and gallant television host that Comedy Central has always been on the lookout for since eons.
Wilmore will have to migrate to the East Coast for his new job. He spoke of how good it felt to be working in tandem with Jon Stewart. Wilmore also mentioned his intense infatuation with NYC.
“I’m beyond excited to have this chance to continue my relationships with Comedy Central and the brilliant Jon Stewart," said Wilmore. "I love the city of New York and promise to only wear my Laker T-shirts when I’m layering.”
Larry Wilmore has quite a resume that sparkles with his salient achievements. The fact that Comedy Central has selected a member of an ethnic minority speaks volumes about its sense of balance and fair play in day-to-day affairs.
