Viola Davis Features Prominently in ABC New Shows

Jimmy Kimmel cracked a good one by saying that ABC was a good birthday party for six year olds. “We may be a terrible network,” joked Jimmy Kimmel (via EW), “but we are a great birthday party for a 6-year-old.”

And while this may have a kernel of truth in it, on the whole many great shows appear courtesy of the channel. Now ABC has comedy skits, law enforcement shows and Shonda Rhimes in its latest repertoire of entertaining stuff.

Shonda was responsible for Gray’s Anatomy and Scandal. Now with How to Get Away with Murder, she presents Annalise Keating, who is played by Viola Davis. It airs on Thursday on 10:00 pm.

As a genius criminal law professor, her lecture notes are utilized by her pupils when they get caught up in horrific situations involving murder.

Among the others, who are constellating around Viola, may be included: Matt McGorry, Aja Naomi King and Katie Findlay. Keating is portrayed as a bit of a sleaze since she sleeps around in order to gather as many clues as possible.

Among the shows lined up for the fall season from 2014 to 2015 includes Manhattan Love Story. It recounts the war of the sexes via radical honesty. And it airs on Monday on 8:30 pm.

Then there is American Crime which comes on the air on Sunday at 9:00 pm. It features crime at its most brutal and vicious.

Forever arrives at 10:00 pm on Tuesday. The program shows a doctor who wants to live forever and dissects his human subjects with the same purpose in mind.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD shows an action-packed sequence of events that unfold naturally and in a fast-paced manner. It airs on Tuesday at 9:00 pm.

Meanwhile, Secrets & Lies allows us a peek into the life of a man who goes from innocent bystander to murder accomplice after he discovers a dead body in his backyard. 10pm on Wednesday is the schedule for this one.

Blackish features a Black American who has bought into the American Dream and lost his cultural identity in the process. It airs on 9:30 pm on Wednesday.

Those were some of the shows that ABC has lined up for the fall season. There are others as well, but these were the salient ones. However, Deadline has posted the complete schedule of ABC Fall 2014-2015 season in which new shows are mentioned in upper case. See the list below.
