Maroon 5 is announcing the release of its fifth studio album, simply titled "V," which launches on September 2 this year. The wait won't be that long though, as a single will be released this summer to precede the album release.
It's worth noting that the band recently teased the new album a couple of weeks ago on Instragram, much to the delight of Maroon 5 fans.
The new album follows the record-breaking 2012 album "Overexposed," which included the popular hit singles "Payphone," "Daylight," and "One More Night."
V was recorded last year in Los Angeles and the album is produced by Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. Founding member and keyboardist, Jesse Carmichael, also returned to work on the album, following a long hiatus to pursue studies in "music and healing arts."
In addition to this exciting news, the 3-time Grammy Award-winning band also announced that it has signed a contract with Interscope Records. The pop-rock band was previously signed to A&M/ Octone, a joint venture between Universal Music Group and Octone Records.
Last year, Universal label Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA), bought the remaining 50 percent of the joint venture of Octone Records. Maroon 5 is now Interscope's flagship artist.
Furthermore, Maroon 5 also signed a worldwide tour deal with Live Nation. The tour dates will be announced the the coming weeks.
