Caleb Johnson has been selected as the latest American Idol winner.
There were two people in the finale of American Idol. One was Caleb Johnson and the other one was Jena Irene Asciutto. Finally, the decision was announced and Caleb Johnson took the winning title.
One of the relatives of Caleb said that he was very happy and would have been even if Jena had won. The crowd started chanting the name of Jena.
"I'm really happy either way," said Johnson's cousin Bill Pauley. And his other cousin, Melissa Pauley sais, "I don't know what to say. It's been a long journey and I'm so very proud of both of them. They're both going to do amazing things."
Jena’s grandmother meanwhile was teary-eyed. And believe it or not, all this occurred before the winner was announced. Such is the state of paradox on the American Idol.
One of Johnson’s cousins spoke of how she didn’t know what to say on the occasion. She hoped that the two would light up the world of singing. The only person who was in a huff was Jena’s grandmother.
She couldn’t believe that her granddaughter had lost out to Caleb. It was a tough competition between the two. Nobody knew who would win in the end and many thought it would take a tiebreaker to decide the final victor.
Caleb Johnson had his hair chopped off the last time he appeared in American Idol. He had also made forays into Hollywood. Jena meanwhile was a senior in high school when she started her stint on the show.
She had received a keyboard from someone years ago and played every song with passion and energy on it. A separation from a male friend was the source of her pain from which she pulled all the lyrics.
When Jena’s grandfather visited her home, he thought she had a radio on at all times upstairs in her room. When he was told that it was Jena performing her songs solo, he said she ought to be given singing lessons in order to polish her already rich talent.
Both Caleb and Jena will get a lot of chances at music-making now that they are the #1 and #2 figures on American Idol. However, this is just the beginning of their careers. Both of them have a lot of ground to cover before real fame comes knocking on the door.
