CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Good Wife” shows lead the Critics’ Choice Television Awards this year with five nominations for each one.
CBS must be very happy as two of its hit shows got the most nominations for this year's Critics’ Choice Television Awards. “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Good Wife” are being nominated in five different categories each.
Entertainer Cedric will host the 4th Annual Critics’ Choice TV Awards that will air for the first time on broadcast television Thursday, June 19th at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
The Critics’ Choice TV Awards with its categories of comedy, drama, and competition series are filled mostly with CBS shows, including “Mom” and “Survivor.”
“The Big Bang Theory” is the only broadcast series nominated in the Best Comedy Series category this year against cable/streaming series like “Veep”, “Orange Is The New Black” and “Louie”. “The Good Wife” has to beat “Game of Thrones” and “Breaking Bad” in the Best Drama Series category.
“The Big Bang Theory” and “The Crazy Ones” stars Jim Parsons and Robin Williams and both have been nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. And three female stars of CBS are also nominated in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category.
Two actresses of “The Big Bang Theory,” Kaley Cuoco and Mayim Bialik are nominated along with Allison Janney for her role in “Mom”.
“The Good Wife” actress Julianna Margulies has also been nominated for the Best Actress in a Drama category while her costars Josh Charles and Christine Baranski have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in Drama.
And the Best Guest Performer category is almost full of CBS performances. James Earl Jones, Mimi Kennedy and Carrie Preston are nominated for “The Big Bang Theory”, “Mom”, and “The Good Wife” respectively.
Three CBS shows, “Undercover Boss”, “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” have also been nominated for the Best Reality Series award.
