Apple’s acquisition of Beats, the famous headphone and music streaming company founded by Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine, is the largest purchase the company has made, but it is also one of the most mysterious. Apple Balla reports that there aren’t many details out just yet, but Tim Cook has finally made a statement on it.
This has been a move that many people have criticized, saying that it isn’t something that will truly benefit the company, but Tim Cook says that it is a “no brainer” for Apple and is in line with everything that they aim for as a company. Music is one of the most important parts of Apple, according to Cook, and this will help them continue to innovate without starting from scratch. There are already experts at Beats that will be able to bring their experience to the company and help them take charge of the iTunes Radio and earphones redesign that have been rumored to be coming for a while now.
He went on to explain that the people at Beats are completely unique and truly understand music. Bringing them into Apple is just what is needed to help with subscription services that Apple has struggled with in recent years. Stay tuned next week for the official announcement that may be coming at the Worldwide Developers Conference starting on June 2.
